Third Row Seating

The Grand Cherokee L ups the ante on size by increasing the standard Grand Cherokee’s wheelbase from 116.7″ to 121.7″ and extending its length from 193.5″ to 204.9″. These changes add a third row of seats for two additional people. The second row, consisting of two seats with armrests and cup holders between them, can be replaced with a bench seat that accommodates up to seven people.

The second-row bench seat has a manual tip and slide function, making it easier to reach the third-row seats. Depending on your trim choice, all seating is covered in cloth, Capri leatherette, Nappa leather, or Nappa Plus Nappa leather. All three seat rows are spacious, with 39.8″ of headroom and 41.4″ of legroom in the front row, 39.9″ of headroom and 39.4″ of legroom in the second row, and 37.3″ of headroom and 30.3″ of legroom in the third row.

Large Cargo Capacity

There’s plenty of space for suitcases, golf clubs, and more, as 17.2 cubic feet of space is available behind the third-row seats. This enables you to carry the equivalent of two large or four medium suitcases when all seats are occupied. You can further extend this capacity by lowering the third row of seats, which provides 46.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

If you need to carry even more gear, folding down the second row of seats increases carrying capacity to 84.6 cubic feet. This is roughly equivalent to space for 10 large or 16 medium suitcases. The second and third row seats fold flat and are level with the area behind the third row, making it easy to pack large or heavy items efficiently.
